About STL Travelers
We are a social group of people, most of whom live in and around St. Louis, Missouri. We like to travel and learn about exciting destinations and cultures around the world. We meet for social events, to sample ethnic restaurants and attend travel lectures. We often attend benefits and cultural festivals of all types, especially those involving music, film or dance. A large percentage of our members are looking for travel buddies. Are you? Some of our members have found compatible travel partners and are now happily planning trips together. We travel together on group tours. The next best thing to taking a great trip is to tell others about your trip! Feel free to post your photos and tell us about great places to visit! Jo Beck, St Louis Travelers Founder
I like learning about other cultures and how people live around the world. I like Rick Steves' travel style and I am his biggest fan.
I'm not a museum or shopping traveler. Instead I like trips that involve walking and seeing historical and cultural attractions. I want to see the sites that are unique to that country and enjoy natural beauty.
I formed the St Louis Travelers group on Meetup and started leading tours in 2013. It is so neat to start with a group of totally unrelated people with not much in common except their desire to travel. But along the way we always become a cohesive group and we watch out for each other. By the end of every tour, there are hugs and high-fives all around. We always have a reunion potluck to share photos and celebrate our wonderful travel memories!
